The City of Effingham Engineering Department administers the following programs:
Planning - Liason to the City Council and Plan Commision on matters concerning the Comprehensive Plan.

Mapping - Depository for all official City maps including, but not limited to the following:
    City Street and Address Map
    City Zoning Map
    Extra-territorial Zoning Map
    Water Main Map
    Sanitary Sewer Map
    Storm Drainage Map
    Various Aerial Planimetric Maps

Subdivision Control - Administers the development of land subdivisions in the City and extra-territorial area (area lying within 1.5 miles of the City corporate limits).

Infrastructure Capital Improvements - Supervises the planning, design, right-of-way or site acquisition, and construction of all buildings, streets, sidewalks, water and sewer lines and other City public works.
