Lieutenant Steve Miller Retires 

On October 1, 2007, Lieutenant Steve Miller retired from the Effingham Fire Department after 20 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Effingham. Lt. Miller began his fire service career on September 20, 1987 as a full time recruit firefighter. In July of 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assumed the duties as the company officer at Station #3. For the last 3 years Lt. Miller has also served as the Quartermaster for the department. Lt. Miller currently resides in Effingham with his wife Mae.
