Patterson Technology Center Employees' Charity Auction - Gift Certificate Winner

In December of 2006, employees of Patterson Technology Center graciously forfeited their Christmas gifts and annual Christmas party and instead organized a charity fundraiser event at their company in order to help those less fortunate. The employees held an "EagleBay" Auction with donated items collected from various vendors and agencies in the area. One such item was a gift certificate donated by the Effingham Fire Department that was redeemable for a ride on the fire department apparatus, lunch with the fireman and a tour of both Fire Stations. The lucky recipient of the gift certificate was (6 yr-old) Jacob Zimmerman, son of Ed and Rosalee Zimmerman of Effingham.

The auction was a huge success and all proceeds ($10,868.00) from the auction were divided between two local charities: the Effingham Elk's Handicapped Children's Fund and the Effingham County Make A Wish Foundation.
