EFFINGHAM CITY COUNCIL -
COMMISSIONER DON ALTHOFF
Don Althoff was elected to the City Council in 2011 and is currently serving as Commissioner of Public Property in 2011.
Don graduated from St. Anthony High School High School in 1970 and from the Culinary Institute of America in 1972.
Don is the owner of Quiznos. He is also a member of Knights of Columbus, Effingham Country Club, and St. Anthony Parish. He enjoys golfing and hunting.
He resides at 1210 N. Third Street with his wife, Carol. They have two children: Jamie (husband, Nate) Niemerg, who resides in Edwardsville, and Clint (wife, Sasha), who resides in Effingham; and one grandchild, Maddie Niemerg.
Don's main goal while serving on the Council is to make Effingham a great and safe place to live.
