COMMISSIONER ALAN HARRIS

Alan Harris was elected to the City Council in 1999 and is currently serving as Commissioner of Accounts and Finance.

Alan attended St. Anthony Grade School and St. Anthony High School, and then went on to Central Illinois Barber College.

Alan has been self-employed as a barber since 1967. He is also a member of Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus, Effingham County Sportsman Club and is on the Board of Directors for Ballard Nature Center.

Alan resides at 1017 Gordon Place with his wife, Sharon. They have two sons, Michael and Cory, a daughter, Shannon, and seven grand children.
