PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Effingham, Illinois, will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00am in the Council Room at City Hall, located at 201 East Jefferson Avenue, in the City of Effingham, Illinois to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program (“DSBSP”) application funded by Community Block Grant (“CDBG”) funds.
On or about June 3, 2020, the City of Effingham, Illinois, intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (“DCEO”) for a grant from the State CDBG program. This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used to provide working capital for the benefit of Effingham Party Worx, LLC. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $25,000 and will address the urgent needs of the business due to the COVID-19 emergency. The total amount of CDBG funds available is up to $25,000 per business to be used towards working capital for businesses that have been affected by the COVID-19 emergency to address the urgent needs of the business.
General information related to this application and the program is available for review prior to the public hearing as of May 22, 2020 on the City of Effingham’s website at www.effinghamil.com. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments or questions at the public hearing or via email to Todd Hull, firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 10:00am on May 29, 2020 to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
