Eastern Illinois University has appointed Effingham’s Mayor, Jeff Bloemker, to the School of Business Advisory Board.
Bloemker is a 1984 graduate of the Eastern Illinois University. He brings 30 years of business experience to the board. Bloemker is currently employed as the CEO of Illinois Correctional Industries with the Illinois Department of Corrections. He has held senior management positions with Agracel, Mid America Motorworks, and Heartland Human Services.
His present and past community involvement includes: City Plan Commission, City Zoning Board of Appeals, County Board of Health, Lake Land College Advisory Committee, Effingham County Chamber of Commerce board, Noon Rotary Club president, and Unit 40 Educational Foundation president.
The Eastern Illinois University School of Business Advisory Board serves in an advisory role to the Chair of the School of Business and as advocates of the university. The objectives of the Business Advisory Board are to provide an interface between the school and business community, provide advice and support to the chairman on a variety of issues related to the management and offerings of the school, and promote positive public relations for the school.
