The City’s Municipal Electrical Aggregate will end in December, 2025. During this year’s bidding process, the City was unable to secure through the aggregate process a lower rate than Ameren. Residents on the City’s aggregate will automatically return to Ameren at a lower rate.  You still have the option to choose an electrical supplier other than Ameren, within two months, although Ameren will remain your provider.

Does the Effingham Fire Department solicit for donations? Do you contract with or hire someone to represent the Effingham Fire Department for the purpose of solicitation of donations?

No. The Effingham Fire Department does not use any fund-raising service, telemarketing firm or mass mailing service to solicit donations but we do continue to accept unsolicited donations. The Fire Department occasionally seeks support for targeted projects from service organizations and corporate sponsors. These have included:

  • a digital camera for the Hazardous Materials Team
  • used vehicles for rescue training purposes
  • a Collapse House for our Regional Training Center
