What is the sales tax in the city?

The 2023 sales tax in the City of Effingham is 6.5%. This includes Illinois State sales tax (6.25%) and Effingham County safety sales tax (0.25%).   Areas of the City located in a Business District have an extra 1% sales tax, making the total 7.5%.

How do I pay my property taxes?
