Annual tax levies

Each year, the City levy's for property tax revenues based upon the value of all property within Effingham, or the equalized assessed value (EAV).  These levied revenues are essential to funding city services and other funding categories as required by state statute.  For more information, see state statutes 65 ILCS 8-3-1 and 35 ILCS 200/18-55.
