Set up automatic payments for your water and sewer bill

You can automatically pay your water bill each month by setting up direct ACH payments from your bank account.

You can also make one-time payments each month online or by dropping off a check.

You will need:

• Bank name and routing number
• Checking or savings account number

You need a Citizen Self Service account to sign up for monthly automatic payments.

If you already have a CSS account

1. Visit the online payment portal
2. Sign in and click on the (+) symbol next to the account number
3. Click the “manage bills” option
4. Click on “sign up for EFT automatic payments”
5. Fill out form and hit continue

If you do not have a CSS account

1. Visit the online payment portal
2. Select “Citizen Self Service”
3. Select “Register for a new account”
4. Enter your information and click “Register”
5. Confirm email
6. Call 217-342-2366 for the Utility Billing department to link your accounts
7. Sign in and click on the (+) symbol next to the account number
8. Click the “manage bills” option
9. Click on “sign up for EFT automatic payments”
10. Fill out form and hit continue

Each month on the 15th, your water bill payment will be taken out of your bank account automatically.

If the 15th is on a weekend or holiday, the payment will come out of your account the Friday before the 15th.
