Speak at a City Council meeting

Purpose

Anyone wanting to address the City Council during the public participation portion of a City Council Meeting is required to complete and submit a Speaker’s Card prior to the meeting.

Protocol

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 004-2016, the protocol for public participation at City Council Meetings is as follows:

Anyone attending the Council Meeting shall be allowed to address the Council after being acknowledged by the Mayor.
Anyone wishing to address the Council is required to complete a Speaker’s Card that indicates the name of the speaker, identifies the topic(s) of discussion, and describes any desired action by the Council.
Speaker’s Cards must be submitted prior to ten (10) minutes before the scheduled meeting is to begin.
There is a five (5) minute time limit per speaker.
