We've started the public participation phase of our Effingham 2050 Comprehensive Plan project, and we need your help! A focus group meeting will be conducted to discuss all aspects of transportation: public transit, streets, bridges, sidewalks, bicycle paths, traffic control, and the airport on Monday, December 16th at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at City Hall (201 E. Jefferson Avenue). We hope you'll attend!

Effingham now has TEXTMYGOV services

The City of Effingham is excited to announce the launch of Text My Gov services as another convenient way for residents, employees and visitors to communicate with the City.

You can sign up to receive message notifications whenever Effingham needs to get a message out such as:

  • Road work
  • Snow emergencies
  • Road closures
  • Boil orders

This smart texting solutions works with regular SMS texting so there is no app or download needed.  Text My Gov uses a mobile phone's regular messaging service as a simple way for the City of Effingham to interact with the public.
